Revelation 5:6 – 9

John is getting a closer up view of the Lamb that appeared to have been slaughtered and has come back to life.  John is standing behind the Throne of God.  In the distance there is one of the seraphim, the ox one.  The twenty four elders have come to worship the Lamb with harps and bowls of incense, which represent the saints prayers.

 

The lamb, or Yeshua, has received a scroll from God on his throne.  The scroll is the ‘Decree of Destruction’ that is to come upon the earth when the seals of the scroll are opened.  This destruction will be for the benefit of all Believers, as it finishes the world as we know it and heralds in the ‘Messianic age’ where Yeshua will rule from Jerusalem. 

 

The Lamb and elders are on the lake of glass.  You can see a faded sun under the glass and the earth to the right foreground.  I have put them in to illustrate an intriguing concept;  The three heavens.  There are three heavens (2 Corinthians 12:2).  The first heaven may be the ‘atmospheric heaven’ where we see birds flying.  This also may be the spiritual realm  where there are ‘rulers, authorities, powers and dominions’ (Ephesians 1:21). The second heaven may be the sun moon and stars.  In the third heaven where we are in the painting, only righteousness holiness and sinlessness can exist, it is where our God sits on his marvelous throne.
